Each work day is like 4 quarters of a football game:
First quarter (8am - 9:50am commercial break) is the kickoff & feeling out period. There might be a few punts on the first few drives.
Second quarter (10am -12pm) is where you try to put some points on the board before halftime.
Third quarter (1pm - 2:50pm) is where you come out strong & try to pour it on to pull ahead & hopefully put the game out of reach.
Fourth quarter (3pm - 5pm) is what separates the good from the great. It’s where you lay it all on the line & leave it on the field. You give your all. Some days you win, other days you lose, but either way, you live to play another day.
Overtime is a flip of a coin so it’s best not to let it not get that far.
And this is just analogy for work. Be sure to leave something in the tank each day for kids, spouse & home life. This could also be an overlay for each week (Friday is overtime) or each month or the 4 seasons of each year in which a new game is about to begin with a new spring!
Signed, another bengals fan wanting to extend the season…
